WEST RUSK — A West Rusk football player has been killed in a one-vehicle accident several miles outside of Henderson in Rusk County. Adarian Parker, 16, of Henderson, was traveling southeast on Texas Highway 323 Friday when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway striking a tree. Parker was pronounced dead at the scene. Passenger London Martin, 15, was released from the hospital with minor injuries.
West Rusk Athletic Director and Head Football Coach John Frazier said in a released statement:
“While we are very thankful that London is OK, our hearts are broken for the loss of a sweet gentle giant,” Frazier said. “We will miss Adarian’s sweet smile and upbeat personality. Our thoughts and prayers are with all involved in this tragic situation.”
Parker, a sophmore, was set to begin his first season with the West Rusk Raider varsity football team as a lineman.
