LONGVIEW — A Winona man awaiting trial on a murder charge was given a new lawyer last week. According to KETK and the Longview News-Journal, 22-year-old Alejandro Garcia asked to replace his prior representation with Gilmer attorney Tim Cone. Garcia was arrested in December in the death of 19-year-old Andres Chavez. Chavez’s body was found near Whistle-Stop Mobile Home Park in Longview. An autopsy revealed Chavez died from blunt trauma to the head and sharp force injuries to the neck.
