Click It or Ticket Results

TYLER — During the Memorial Day Click It or Ticket enforcement program, officers with the Tyler Police Department working specifically on this initiative wrote a total of 98 citations for seatbelt violations and 4 citations for child safety seat violations. That’s according to information released by the department Thursday. The department conducted a recent traffic survey in the City of Tyler to determine what percentage of occupants of a vehicle were wearing seatbelts. The survey results indicated that 98% of vehicle occupants were buckled up; that was an increase of 2% over last year. According to a police department news release, “We are pleased with the results of this survey and continue to encourage everyone to buckle up for safety.”
