robbystevensmugscojailLONGVIEW — A man charged with multiple local robberies is set to stand trial starting Tuesday, June 10. Robby Brian Stevens, 43, of Leander, is facing charges stemming from an aggravated robbery of the Dollar General in Diana. He is also charged with the aggravated robbery of China King in Longview. According to KETK, jury selection will take place Monday, June 9.

On December 20, 2013, at 10:39 p.m., officers were dispatched to an aggravated robbery that had just occurred at the China King in 400 Block of West Loop 281 in Longview. When officers arrived the victim told police a white male approximately 5’9 to 6’0 tall with an unshaven face approached her while she was at the register. The man, who police say was Stevens, brandished a weapon and demanded the register drawer containing money. The clerk gave him the money and he left the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of cash. Stevens is reported to have fled that scene in a dark silver or champagne colored four-door passenger car. After reviewing the surveillance video, police determined Stevens had been in the restaurant a few minutes prior to the robbery, approached the counter, took a menu and left.

Stevens has since been held in the Gregg County Jail on $80,000 bond.
