Followup Continues after Longview Cemetery Vandalism

brokenheadstoneslnjLONGVIEW (AP/Staff) – Officials at Longview’s Greenwood Cemetery and the local cemetery association are considering their next moves after vandals damaged nearly 90 headstones at the Greenwood facility. The cemetery association is considering raising the money needed to install surveillance cameras. The Longview News-Journal reports some of the older headstones could cost up to $1,000 to repair. Some of the headstones were moved, while others were knocked over and damaged. Older headstones, including some obelisks, were toppled and broken into pieces. Police believe the vandalism occurred Tuesday.
