Marshall Interim Police Chief Retiring

MARSHALL — A change is coming to the Marshall Police Department. Interim Chief Leland J. Benoit is retiring effective this Friday. Marshall’s acting city manager, Kenneth “Buzz” Snyder, says, “Obviously, I tried to talk him out of it. After a long period of time of visiting and trying to talk him out of it, he still made the decision this is what he wanted to do.” Snyder says a lengthy search for a Marshall police chief has been underway, but that process is expected to take at least another month to six weeks to complete. Benoit has been interim chief since 2013.
