East Texas Man Died When Hit by Lightning

NACOGDOCHES (AP) – Investigators say an East Texas man has died after apparently being struck by lightning while outside his home. The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as Hank Wiederhold, 60, of Nacogdoches. Sheriff Jason Bridges says Widerhold’s body was discovered last Friday in his backyard near a tree. The victim had a burn mark on his midsection. Witnesses reported hearing a loud boom prior to Wiederhold being found dead.
