TYLER — Here’s a quick look at other work planned in Smith County by the Tyler District of the Texas Department of Transportation.
SMITH COUNTY – Construction crews this week resume resurfacing operations on North Loop 323 in Tyler in an effort to conclude the construction project between U.S. Highway 69 North and the Loop 323 Extension. Meanwhile, Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews on Monday were due to conclude base and pavement repair work on SH 64 west of Tyler, then move on Tuesday to perform the same work on U.S. Highway 271 between North Loop 323 and Farm Road 2015. A second crew is scheduled to continue base and pavement repairs on East Loop 323 between the Loop 323 Extension and Commerce Street. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and motorists should be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zones.
GREGG COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue shoulder work on Farm Road 2087 between South Loop 281 in Longview and Interstate Highway 20. Sweeper trucks are also scheduled to be at work on various bridges, including Interstate 20 bridges across the county. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
CHEROKEE COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform shoulder and edge work on State Highway 204 between Loop 456 in Jacksonville and State Highway 110 in Ponta. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
ANDERSON COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to resume base and pavement repairs on US 259 between Elkhart and the Houston County Line. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
WOOD COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to conclude resurfacing operations on Farm Road 1643 east if Quitman between State Highway 37 and Farm Road 515, the move midweek to perform the same work on Farm Road 514 west of Yantis. A second crew is scheduled to continue edge work on US 80 between Mineola and Crow. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
HENDERSON COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform resurfacing operations in various locations on Farm Road 1615 between State Highway 19 south of Athens and the end of state maintenance. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
VAN ZANDT COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform resurfacing operations in various locations on Farm Road 773 between Farm Road 16 and State Highway 64 in Ben Wheeler, followed by the same work on State Highway 198 between Farm Road 1651 and the Kaufman County Line. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
RUSK COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews are scheduled to perform resurfacing operations on Farm Road 95 between State Highway 315 and Farm Road 1798 east of Mount Enterprise. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress and flaggers will control traffic.
