Tyler ISD Graduation Rates Exceed State, Nation

thumb_TISD_Logo_NewTYLER — Tyler ISD’s graduation rates exceed those of Texas and the United States, according to information from the school district. TISD’s 2012 graduation rate hit 92 percent, beating the state average by 4 percent. Furthermore, Tyler ISD graduation rates exceeded the state and the nation in every demographic group. According to a news release, “Tyler ISD applauds districts across the State in their achievements” while celebrating its own good news. The United States Department of Education this week released a study showing 2012 graduation rates of Texas students to be among the highest in the country. Texas posted a graduation rate of 88 percent, coming in behind only Iowa and tied for second place with Nebraska, Vermont and Wisconsin. Furthermore, in 2012, Texas had the highest graduation rates among African-American students and tied for the highest graduation rates for white and economically disadvantaged students.
