Officials Probe Criminal Mischief Case

LONGVIEW — Sheriff Maxey Cerliano and the Gregg County Sheriff’s Office request assistance in a criminal mischief case. On Sunday at about 3:00 p.m., Gregg County deputies responded to the Dyersdale Energy Lease off Highway 42 in Kilgore. Officials say unknown persons intentionally dumped approximately 200 barrels of crude oil on the ground from a holding tank on the lease. The cost of the oil is in excess of $20,000. Officials say the cost of the cleanup of the site may likely exceed $50,000.
