TYLER — A Tyler man accused of capital murder makes his second court appearance in the last three weeks today. KETK reports John Grimes IV, 25, was indicted on February 27 and will go to trial. A trial date has not been set. The suspect will also appear in court March 14 for a revocation of probation hearing. He had been on probation for assault on a family member before the murder. The case will be presided over by Judge Thomas A. Dunn. On December 1, 2013, Grimes was arrested and charged with capital murder after police responded to a home in the 500 block of East Bow Street to find the body of Tony Jeter, 65. He had been stabbed to death. Grimes was booked into Smith County Jail and was being held on a $1 million bond.
