TYLER – The Smith County Sheriff’s Office continues to seek the public’s help in locating Jacob Hamilton Garrett, a 14-year-old from Whitehouse who was reported as a runaway by his family on February 14. The Sheriff’s Office has received reports from his school that he has been texting fellow students, but there have been no confirmed sightings of Garrett. Garrett is 5’6” and weighs 125. The last available photo of him shows him with shorter dark brown hair, but he reportedly now has longer hair with blond coloring added.
According to authorities, Garrett may be telling people that he is a foster child and is in danger. The Sheriff’s Office wants the public to know that anyone harboring Garrett could be charged with aiding and abetting and harboring a runaway, which are criminal offenses. To report any information on this case, contact the Smith County Sheriff’s Office at 903-566-6600.
