Longview Man Facing Additional Charge

LONGVIEW — A man arrested by Longview police for public intoxication is facing an additional charge. Samuel Fields, 52, of Longview, was arrested Saturday night near Electra Street. During a pat down at the Gregg County Jail, a pistol was found in Fields’ pocket. He has now been charged with possession of a deadly weapon in a penal institution. His bond was set at $5,000.
