Grieving Dad Seeks Easier Access to 911

Officials say Hank Hunt’s daughter Kari was murdered by her ex-husband in a Marshall hotel room December 1 in front of the couple’s three little kids. Their nine-year-old tried to call 911, but didn’t realize she had to dial nine first to get an outside line. Hunt says, “My granddaughter did what she was supposed to do, and she couldn’t get help — and a nine-year-old should be able to get help when she needs it.” More than 360,000 people have signed his petition on change.org called “Kari’s Law” — a law that would require businesses like hotels to make sure their phone systems have easy access to dialing 911.
