Gilmer Man Indicted for September Murder of Son’s Mother

GILMER — A Gilmer man who allegedly shot his son’s mother at point-blank range during a football game on the Gilmer ISD campus in September has been indicted on a single count of capital murder by an Upshur County Grand Jury. KETK reports Jonathan Ray Shepherd, 32, was formally indicted Monday for his alleged role in he murder of Cheyenne Green. Shepherd is being held in the Upshur County Jail on $1,000,000 bond. The murder charge was upgraded to capital murder and filed Thursday, October 10.
