NACOGDOCHES — The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Hudson woman after methamphetamine was reportedly found in her vehicle. According to KETK, Sheriff Jason Bridges said deputies conducted a traffic stop on a car driven by Dawn Cummings, who had a four-year-old child with her around 7:30 Monday night. Deputies performed a routine traffic stop on Highway 59 South and noticed Cummings acting suspicious and very nervous, according to Bridges.
Officials were granted permission to search the car and found four packages of crystal meth in the console weighing 3 1/2 grams, according to information from the Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say that upon further investigation, it was found Cummings was delivering the narcotics to a home in Nacogdoches County.
Deputies also reportedly discovered Cummings had more narcotics at her home in Hudson. The Nacogdoches Sheriff’s Office, along with the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office and Hudson Police Department, went to Cummings’s house and found more drugs, according to officials. Deputies say they found 10 more grams of crystal meth, six grams of cocaine, and several different types of prescription medication. Cummings was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on charges of possession of controlled substance and endangering a child. She remains jailed on a $17,500 bond.
Sheriff Bridges stated additional charges are expected to be filed in Angelina County on the narcotics that were allegedly found at her residence. The child was turned over to Child Protective Services.
