Lufkin Restaurant Employee Charged with Theft

LUFKIN — An assistant manager of a Lufkin restaurant has been charged with taking money from the business. Michael Anthony Maldonado, 22, of Lufkin, is accused of taking the money from Chicken Express. Missing from the store’s safe was just over $3,000. Investigators used the store’s surveillance video footage to make their case against Maldonado. He is being held in the Angelina County Jail on a state-jail felony charge of theft between $1,500 and $20,000.
