Baby’s Death Under Investigation

LUFKIN — Lufkin Police are investigating the death of an infant. According to KETK, it happened around 10:00 Thursday morning in the 1500 block of Williams Street. Police say a 19-year-old mother called 911 telling officials that her 8-week-old infant was unresponsive. An ambulance took the emaciated baby to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead Friday morning. The infant’s name is being held at this time pending further investigation.
