TYLER — The East Texas State Fair got underway Friday and runs through September 29. There’s a variety of events on tap. Also, drivers need to know about major traffic changes on Front Street adjacent to the fairgrounds.
Here’s a rundown of ticket availabilities:
Gate Admission Tickets
Child 5 & Under: Free
Youth 6-12: $5.00
Adult 13 & Up: $8.00
Gate Carnival Tickets
Weekday (M-F) Unlimited Ride Armbands: $25.00
Sheet of 22 Tickets: $25.00
Sheet of 50 Tickets: $60.00
Individual Ticket: $1.25
On West Front Street in front of Harvey Hall, police shut traffic down to one lane in both East and West directions Friday at 7:30 a.m., and that restriction was due to remain in place until midnight. After Friday all lanes will be open until 4:00 p.m. each day, and then the traffic will revert back to one lane of traffic flow in each direction until closing time of the Fair.
Tyler police encourage everyone crossing West Front to cross at the approved crosswalk in front of the main gate. Officers will provide traffic control at this crosswalk for your safety. Please use extreme caution in this area due to the large volume of pedestrian traffic and officers directing traffic in the street. Drivers not attending the Fair on Friday and after 4:00 p.m. each day may consider taking an alternate route.
