KETK reports it happened just before 9:00 p.m. at Arun Rise Liquor Store on Hwy. 175 in Cuney. Cuney Police say three employees were closing the store for the day when they were attacked by three men in the parking lot. One of the men held a gun to a female employee’s face and demanded money. A male employee was knocked to the ground. After taking some of the employees’ personal money, the robbers ran away into a nearby wooded area.

When police arrived, they began searching for the men. An officer was driving eastbound on Hwy. 175 when he noticed a vehicle turn off Cherokee County Road 3509, not far from where the incident happened. Since an aggravated robbery is a felony, officers pulled the vehicle over. When the driver stopped, three men emerged from the car and ran into the woods. Police say the driver, Bridjhuna Rashaye Thirkill, 27, was arrested and is currently charged with aggravated robbery. Thirkill (pictured) has been booked into the Cherokee County Jail.

The men were not found. The robbers are described as three black men, who were wearing all black at the time of the incident. Cuney Police are looking for Fitzgerald DeWayne Allen, 28, for questioning. In all, it is believed the robbers got away with a few hundred dollars of the employees’ personal money. The employee who was knocked to the ground was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries. This case is still under investigation. If you have any information about the incident, or can direct police to the location of Fitzgerald Allen, contact the Cuney Police Department.
