No One Hurt as Train Hits Forklift

SMITH COUNTY — The scene was cleared and roads reopened after a train hit an idle forklift at Loop 323 and HIghway 271 in Smith County Wednesday. Deputies tell KETK a man was crossing the tracks in a forklift when it stalled in the worst possible spot. Fortunately, the driver escaped before the collision and wasn’t hurt. Traffic was backed up while crews cleared the train from the track.
