TxDOT Project Updates

TxDOT signTYLER — Here’s a quick look at other work planned in the Tyler District of the Texas Department of Transportation.

WOOD COUNTY – Beginning Tuesday, TxDOT contract construction crews from Longview Bridge and Road, of Longview, are scheduled to begin approximately one year’s worth of work to add passing lanes to U.S, Highway 69 between Loop 564 in Mineola and Farm Road 779 in Golden. Crews will begin work by widening drainage structures in the work area. The $2.8 million project let to contract in June and is scheduled for completion next summer.

VAN ZANDT COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to make base and pavement repairs on Farm Road 1805 north of Van, and Farm Road 1995 and Farm Road 1253 near Garden Valley. Also this week in Van Zandt County, TxDOT contract construction crews are scheduled to apply a seal coat in the Farm Road 17 construction area between Interstate Highway 20 north of Canton and Farm Road 1652 near Grand Saline. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

HENDERSON – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews on Thursday this week are scheduled to begin work to remove the old railroad tracks on State Highway 64 west of the Star between Marshall Street and North Mill Drive. Crews will remove half of the tracks on Thursday, then return Monday to remove the other half. The work is being done in advance of a project to realign and improve the intersection, which is tentatively scheduled to start this fall. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and motorists are strongly encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible to avoid delays.

CHEROKEE COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue edge work in various locations on Farm Road 2137 between Farm Road 344 south of Bullard, and Farm Road 855 west of Mount Selman. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

GREGG COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue shoulder work on the U.S. Highway 259-Kilgore Bypass between the south end and Farm Road 349. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

HENDERSON COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue pavement repair and resurfacing operations on Farm Road 1615 between State Highway 19 south of Athens, and the end of state maintenance. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
