TxDOT Project Updates

TYLER — Here’s a quick look at other work planned in the Tyler District of the Texas Department of Transportation.
TYLER – This week in Smith County, TxDOT maintenance crews are scheduled to resume shoulder work on Interstate Highway 20 between Farm Road 2015 and U.S. Highway 271. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zone.
Looking ahead to September, TxDOT contract construction crews from APAC-Texas, Inc. are scheduled to begin work on Tuesday, September 3 to add a center turn lane to Farm Road 14 between County Road 328 and County Road 329. The $932,000 project is scheduled for completion in 2014.
WOOD COUNTY – Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3, TxDOT contract construction crews from Longview Bridge and Road, of Longview, are scheduled to begin approximately one year’s worth of work to add passing lanes to U.S. Highway 69 between Loop 564 in Mineola and Farm Road 779 in Golden. The $2.8 million project let to contract in June and is scheduled for completion next summer.
GREGG COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue shoulder work on the U.S. Highway 259-Kilgore Bypass between the south end and Farm Road 349. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
HENDERSON COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue pavement repair and resurfacing operations on Farm Road 1615 between State Highway 19 south of Athens, and the end of state maintenance. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
