Murder Suspect Turns Himself In

LUFKIN — An Angelina County double murder suspect has surrendered to authorities. Kevin Jabbar McKelvey, 37, of Lufkin turned himself in to authorities last night. Angelina County Sheriff Greg Sanches said McKelvey showed up at the sheriff’s department around 8:00 last night with his parents. After talking with his parents he decided to turn himself in. He fled after he reportedly shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and her mother late Sunday night. It happened in the 100 block of Carlton.
