Posted/updated on: July 19, 2013 at 11:08 am

loanrangerTYLER — The F.B.I. and numerous law enforcement agencies in multiple southern states (Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi, Kentucky), are still seeking the identity and whereabouts of the suspect bank robber dubbed as the “Loan Ranger Bandit.” Authorities say the suspect struck again in Temple, Texas, on July 12 around 9:00 a.m. when he entered the Santa Fe Community Credit Union in the 1700 block of W. Avenue A and robbed the bank at gunpoint. The credit union is right off I-35. On May 10, a suspect matching the description of the Loan Ranger Bandit struck a bank in Louisville, Kentucky, around 11:35 a.m.

Police say the suspect has developed a pattern to return to the same banks that he has robbed in the past in several states. In Tyler he has allegedly robbed the Altra Federal Credit Union at 5523 Troup Hwy. on August 11, 2011, and the Compass Bank at 6910 South Broadway on May 17, 2012. Police would like the public to remain vigilant, especially all bank tellers, and to be on the lookout for this suspect and any possible suspect vehicle. He has displayed a handgun in all of his robberies and should be considered armed and dangerous.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the suspect’s capture. The robber is described as a white male in his early 30s, approximately 5’7” to 6’0” tall, approximately 200 pounds, with a medium build. He has short light brown hair, wears glasses, and has a small mole or mark just above his right eye on the lower part of his forehead. His varied clothing styles have included athletic wear, jeans, and business attire. He was dubbed the “Loan Ranger Bandit” for the blue Texas Rangers baseball cap he has worn while robbing banking institutions where loans are offered. The suspect may drive a maroon Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck with a thin white pinstripe around the truck bed.

You’re asked to contact your local law enforcement agency or the F.B.I. if you have any information related to the possible identity or whereabouts of this suspect. You may submit a tip online at http://tips.fbi.gov or call the F.B.I at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
