Former Teacher Heading to Prison

Jamar BallardNACOGDOCHES — A former Nacogdoches substitute teacher will be going to prison after pleading guilty to having improper relations with several students. Jamar Ballard, 29, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. He was arrested in April after a student told a teacher she had sexual relations with Ballard in a classroom. Two other students later came forward to admit they too had relations with Ballard. KETK reported he pleaded guilty to two counts of improper relations between an educator and student and one count of sexual assault of a child.
