Posted/updated on: July 16, 2013 at 1:14 pm

William Edward Brown-DoctorTYLER — The Texas Medical Board has temporarily suspended the medical license of Dr. William Edward Brown. At Gynecology Tyler, Dr. Brown has been in practice in Tyler for 32 years. In a letter to his patients on his web site, Dr. Brown said, “I have yet to be notified by the board concerning their astonishing move against me.” He said the actions against him are unclear “and contain several misrepresentations.” Later in the on-line letter, Dr. Brown says, “I pledge to you to return to work as soon as possible. I have obtained counsel in Austin from an attorney who deals with these issues commonly and feels this can be readily resolved.” You can go to http://www.gynecologytyler.com and see the entire letter.

According to the Texas Medical Board’s website; “On July 12, 2013, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the medical license of Tyler physician William Edward Brown, M.D., after determining that Dr. Brown’s continuation in the practice of medicine would constitute a threat to the public welfare due to his impaired status. The board determined that Dr. Brown violated the terms of an agreement with the Texas Physician Health Program and an agreement with the Compliance Division of the board.”
