Longview Continues to Monitor Mosquito Population

LONGVIEW — Longview officials continue to monitor the local mosquito population, with an eye on West Nile virus. According to KETK and the Longview News-Journal, crews are continuing to spot-spray. The current practice is to check mosquito traps one by one. If there are more than 50 potentially West Nile-carrying Culex mosquitoes in a trap, crews will spot-spray the area, but there are no plans yet to go city-wide.
