LONGVIEW — Longview Police are searching for two unknown men they say were involved in a scam on July 2. KETK reports one of the men, a white male, started a conversation with the victim and eventually asked her if he could buy some gas for her. Another man, a black male, driving a blue four-door passenger car waited nearby for the other man.
The white male eventually went into the store and appeared to be purchasing the fuel. He returned to the victim and continued talking to her. When the pump did not turn on, the man stood by the vehicle and sent the woman into the store to see why the pump had not started. As soon as she entered the store, the man took her purse from her vehicle and left with the man in the blue car.
If you pick up any clues from the surveillance photo, or are aware of a similar incident happening, you’re asked to contact Detective Melissa Dobbs at 903-237-1199.
