TxDOT signTYLER — Here’s a quick look at other work planned in the Tyler District of the Texas Department of Transportation.

SMITH COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform base and pavement repairs on Farm Road 2661 in and around its intersection with State Highway 31. A second crew is scheduled to make base and pavement repairs on Farm Road 757 near U.S. Highway 271 near Starrville. Elsewhere, TxDOT maintenance crews are scheduled to perform edge work on Farm Road 2710 east of Lindale, between Farm Road 16 and Farm Road 14. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zones.

HENDERSON – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to resume pavement-repair operations on U.S. Highway 79 between the Star and Farm Road 225. The crew is scheduled to work through Wednesday this week, then resume work on Monday, July 8. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible, and be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zone.

LONGVIEW – Contract crews on Monday and Tuesday are scheduled to stripe recently repaired areas of WSW Loop 281. There will be no lane closures associated with the work as striping operations are conducted by slow-moving convoy. Motorists are advised that attempting to pass a striping operation could result in paint overspray covering their vehicles.

MINEOLA – Texas Department of Transportation contract crews this week are scheduled to continue applying a seal coat to Loop 564 between U.S. Highway 69 North and U.S. Highway 69 South. Elsewhere in Wood County, TxDOT maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue edge work on Farm Road 2422, between U.S. Highway 80 east of Mineola, and Farm Road 1804 (Hoard Road), and ditch work on State Highway 154 east of Quitman. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic in two-lane areas. Loose gravel may be present for several days following a seal coat application.

HENDERSON COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to begin approximately two weeks of seal coat operations in various locations on U.S. Highway 175 between Athens and the Kaufman County Line. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zone. Loose gravel may be present for several days following a seal coat application

VAN ZANDT COUNTY – Contract crews on Monday and Tuesday are scheduled to stripe recently repaired areas of State Highway 64 in and around the interchange with Interstate Highway 20. There will be no lane closures associated with the work as striping operations are conducted by slow-moving convoy. Motorists are advised that attempting to pass a striping operation could result in paint overspray covering their vehicles. A second crew is scheduled to perform base and edge repairs on State Highway 19 north of Canton between IH 20 and U.S. Highway 80. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic in two-lane areas.

CHEROKEE COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue resurfacing operations in various locations on Farm Road 855 between U.S. Highway 175 in Cuney and U.S. Highway 69 in Mount Selman. After a delay, TxDOT contract crews are tentatively scheduled to begin work in Jacksonville on Farm Road 347 (Bolton Street) between Cherokee Street and Loop 456 on Monday, July 8. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

ANDERSON COUNTY – Beginning Monday, July 8, Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews are scheduled to begin resurfacing operations on Farm Road 3309 (Link Street) between North Loop 256 and Farm Road 315.
