Two Flown to Dallas after Nacogdoches Fire

Nacogdoches Fire DepartmentNACOGDOCHES — Fast work Sunday afternoon as Nacogdoches firefighters pulled two victims from a burning house on Georgia Oak Street off Old Lufkin Rd. Fire Chief Keith Kiplinger tells our news partner 103 The Bull an 83-year-old woman and her 63-year- old daughter were still inside the smoke-filled home when firefighters arrived. They were dragged from the burning home and given medical care before being transported to Memorial Hospital and later life flighted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas for treatment of serious burns. The house received heavy smoke, heat, and water damage before firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze. Names of the injured have not been released. the fire, which started in a front bedroom, is still under investigation.
