Longview Seeks to Curb Mosquito Population

LONGVIEW — With no confirmed cases of West Nile, Longview is hoping to keep it that way. The city started spot spraying in areas where high numbers of mosquitoes had been found. The city has also been trapping mosquitoes and larviciding creeks and stagnant water. City officials tell KETK they hope by being proactive, they can help curb the population. Health officials say if you have to be outside, you should wear long sleeve shirts and pants — and mosquito repellent is a must.
