Felony Suspect Caught Following Manhunt

LONGVIEW — A felony suspect has been arrested after a Friday morning manhunt in Longview. Police say Jason Michael Brod, 34, was arrested and charged with an outstanding felony theft warrant, as well as felony burglary of a habitation, evading arrest, and possession of marijuana.
On Friday at 10:42 a.m., Longview Police received a call of a suspicious person in the Towne Lake Village area. The caller told police that he had seen a white male with lots of tattoos carrying several garbage bags into the woods near the area. When police arrived they spotted the suspect. They say he then ran into the woods, promoting a pursuit. With the assistance of Gregg County Sheriff’s Office K-9, police were able to locate the suspect a short time later in a heavily wooded area, according to a news release. Officials say Brod was transported to the Gregg County Jail without further incident.
