Posted/updated on: June 5, 2013 at 3:13 pm

computer_rendering_cumberlandTYLER — A new development will bring many new businesses to Tyler next year. The Village at Cumberland Park will be located on South Broadway, near Loop 49, adjacent to Gander Mountain. David Wilson with The Retail Connection, the developing company, tells KETK that the park will be more than 700,000 square feet and could be home to more than 100 businesses. The site plan is a horseshoe shape, with businesses wrapping around some interior structures, which will house some specialty stores.

As of the beginning of June, several businesses that Wilson called “anchor” stores had already entered into contracts for the development. Businesses that have already committed to or expressed interest in the new plaza include:

Bed, Bath and Beyond (Bye Bye Baby expansion)
Joann’s
PETCO
Shenanigans
Studio Movie Grill
TJ Maxx
Ross
Dress Barn
Lane Bryant
Famous Footwear
Carters
Osh Kosh
and many more

Several service businesses will also be offered in the facility, including hair salons, massage parlors and dentist offices. A fountain and park area will be built to provide a place for children to play. Construction for the development is expected to begin in August, with an anticipated completion date in fall of 2014. Tenants may be able to move in beginning in July of next year. Wilson says the project has been modeled after a similar one in Arlington called “Arlington Highland.”
