TxDOT Project Updates

UNDATED – Here’s a quick look at events and work planned in the Tyler TxDOT District:
SMITH COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform edge and shoulder work on FM 2661 between SH 31 and Big Eddy Road. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
HENDERSON – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue approximately three weeks of pavement-repair work on US 79 between South Loop 571 and the Star. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zone.
HENDERSON COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform ditch and edge maintenance on FM 1667 south of Trinidad. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
Looking ahead to the week of June 10, TxDOT contract crews are scheduled to begin nighttime pavement-repair and resurfacing operations on the Athens Square. Once work begins, parking will not be allowed in or around the square between the hours of 6 p.m.-6 a.m. Sunday-Thursday. Also beginning the week of June 10, TxDOT maintenance crews are scheduled to perform seal coat operations on FM 1214 in Caney City, FM 3062 in Star Harbor, and FM 2636 southeast of Malakoff.
VAN ZANDT COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue several weeks of deep-base repair work on FM 1651 between SH 198 and SH 19 south of Canton. A second crew is scheduled to perform resurfacing operations on FM 3227 between FM 47 and SH 198. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers and pilot vehicles will control traffic.
Elsewhere, crews are scheduled to continue pavement repair and seal-coat operations on SH 64 at Interstate 20. In addition to temporary lane closures in and around the intersection, this work will involve temporary entrance and exit interstate ramp closures serving the intersection.
CHEROKEE COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to conclude base and pavement repairs on US 79 between New Summerfield and Jacksonville, then move to perform the same operations on FM 177 near Mount Selman, and on US 69 just south of Mount Selman.
Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic in two-lane areas.
Looking ahead to the week of June 17, contract construction crews are scheduled to begin pavement-repair and resurfacing operations in Jacksonville on FM 347 (Bolton Street) between Cherokee Street and South Loop 456. Signs informing motorists of the work will be posted during the week of June 10.
ANDERSON COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform edge-repair work on SH 294 between US 79 near the Trinity River and Elkhart. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
WOOD COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue pavement and edge repairs in various locations on FM 2966 in Yantis. A second crew is scheduled to perform resurfacing operations on FM 1801 east of Mineola. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
