Smith County Man Charged with Murder; Victim Identified

SMITH COUNTY — Authorities have identified a Smith County shooting victim as Timothy Matthew Martin, 24. Charged with his death was Alex Wesley Jones, 23, Tyler. Jones is charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the Smith County Jail on a $750,000 bond. The shooting occurred shortly after 10:00 Tuesday morning in the 100 block of Patton Lane.
