LONGVIEW — A trial date has been set for a Kilgore man and woman being held in the Gregg County Jail on multiple charges of sexual misconduct with a child. According to KETK and the Longview News-Journal, court records show Jesse Dale Smith, 33, and Cassandra Stone, 32, were indicted in December. The pair are scheduled to appear before Judge David Brabham at 9 a.m. May 20, in the 188th District Court.
Smith was indicted on charges related to possessing images of a child having sex, according to court records. A December indictment also accuses Smith of forcing a child younger than six years old to perform oral sex on him. The indictment against Stone says she acted with Smith in the sexual assault of the same child, including Smith engaging in oral sex with the child.
Smith has been in the Gregg County Jail since Sept. 26 under bonds and fines totaling $160,220. Jail records show he is charged with possession and promotion of child pornography, aggravated sexual assault of a child, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Stone has been in the Gregg County Jail since Nov. 20 under $250,000 bond on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
