Vehicle-Horse Accident Claims Man’s Life

TYLER — One person has been killed and three injured in a vehicle-horse crash Thursday night in Smith County. Officials say it happened around 10:20 p.m. on Highway 31, 8/10 of a mile east of Tyler. A Dodge Neon driven by 22-year-old Jose Espinoza-Gallegos of Tyler was traveling westbound and struck a horse. Espinoza-Gallegos was pronounced dead Friday. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Two passengers were injured and listed in fair condition. The third person injured, also a passenger, was a minor on whom officials are not offering any details.
