Area Counties React to Shooting of Kaufman DA, Wife

Cherokee County Judge Chris Davis tells KETK county officials have had discussions within the department, but says it’s impossible to protect everybody all the time. In Smith County, we’re told there’s a plan in the works. Sheriff’s spokesman John Moore says, “Well when it comes to security, we’ve always been very vigilant in the county; however, this has given us a moment of pause to try and step back, take a look at all areas, and see if there are any places that we can improve.” Authorities in both counties say their hearts go out to families who lost loved ones in Kaufman County.
