Case of Body Found at Church Being Probed as Homicide

RUSK — A body has been found at a church in Rusk and authorities are treating it as a homicide. Around 6:30 Friday morning the Rusk Police Department was called to Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, located in the 900 block of Farm Road 23, also known as Crockett Street, to investigate a suspicious person lying on the ground. According to the Rusk Police Lieutenant Brad George, when officers arrived on scene, they found Chris Reneau, 42, of Rusk, dead. An autopsy will be performed by the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.
