Man Arrested after Stealing Vehicle from Car Wash

LUFKIN — A Lufkin man is now behind bars after evading arrest and and accused of stealing a vehicle. On Friday afternoon around 5:00, Roy Lyn Smith, 45, was at Excel Car Wash in the 300 block of Timberland Drive. One of the employees had reportedly left the key in the vehicle when Smith got into the car and drove off. Smith was found a short time later and arrested. He was booked into Angelina County Jail on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest.
