conteshathompsonLUFKIN — In an ironic twist, a Lufkin woman found herself behind bars after trying to visit another inmate at the county jail. Last Sunday morning just before 8:30, Contesha M. Thompson, 32, of Lufkin, was served a Lufkin Police Department warrant when an officer recognized her as a wanted suspect. KETK reports that Thompson was at the jail visiting a prisoner when authorities realized she had a warrant out for her arrest that was issued November 14, 2012. In September 2012, on the 2300 block of East Lufkin Avenue, the fugitive allegedly drove her vehicle into another woman with whom she had an ongoing dispute. Thompson was booked into the jail on an aggravated assault charge. She was released on $20,000 bond.
