Suspect Charged in Longview Robberies

LONGVIEW — A Longview man has been charged with a string of armed robberies. Taken into custody was Corey Gaylon Champion, 19. Police say he stole or tried to steal money from workers at a Sonic Drive Inn on Gilmer Road, Chanel Stop and Go in the 500 block of Mobberly Avenue, and a shoe store in the 700 block of Estes Parkway. Champion is being held on bonds totaling $225.00. A companion with champion on one of the robberies remains at large.
