Bonnie MillerKENNARD — A woman accused of kidnapping two Houston County children has been arrested in Fort Worth. The children are safe. Bonnie Miller, the children’s grandmother, was arrested around 3:00 Friday afternoon in a home near where her car had been found. She is accused of taking Nevaen Kimora Simpson, 2, and Malik Simpson, 1.

According to a news release from the Houston County Sheriff’s Department, the children’s mother died in late December. Their father, who had custody of the kids, took them to the grandmother’s house to visit for Christmas. When he returned to pick them up, the grandmother refused to return them to their father. A court order was issued listing the father as the sole managing conservator. During the time when the court proceedings initiated and were being finalized, the grandmother fled with both children. She has been named in two felony warrants for kidnapping.
