Two Injured in Smith County Shooting; Suspect’s Name Released

ARP — Smith County Sheriff’s authorities say the alleged shooter’s name in an Arp-area incident is Richard Lee Hunt. He was booked into the Smith County Jail Wednesday morning. According to authorities, Hunt was treated and released from a local hospital. The other man is still in the hospital in critical condition. Hunt allegedly shot him in the neck and chest, then reportedly shot himself accidentally in the leg. The incident happened shortly after 6:15 Tuesday night off State Highway 135. The investigation into the incident continues.
