Wood County Man Sentenced for Bank Robbery

TYLER — A Hawkins man, formerly of Louisiana, has been sentenced in Tyler to federal prison for bank robbery. Robin Marion Allen pleaded guilty last September, to bank robbery. He has been sentenced to 160 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap. Federal prosecutors contend, on June 25, 2012, Allen borrowed a car and drove to the Wells Fargo Bank on East Main Street in Atlanta, Texas. Allen approached a bank teller and gave the teller a hand-written note with instructions to fill a black bag with cash. The teller placed $1,944 in cash in the bag and returned it to Allen. Allen was arrested Atlanta two days later.
