Jeb Hensarling2TYLER — The chairman of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee, Representative Jeb Hensarling of Dallas, was in Tyler this week. According to KETK, Hensarling spoke on actions he says he’s taken in Congress to cut wasteful spending in Washington. He also talked about improving the health of our economy. He says what it all comes down to is being fiscally responsible. Hensarling remarked, “The core principle is fiscal responsibility that insures that we aren’t the first generation in history to leave the next generation with a lower standard of living and less freedom.” Hensarling is also hosting a series of town halls. He wants to hear from people about the issues they say are important to East Texas, part of which he represents.
