Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Activities in Tyler
Posted/updated on: January 15, 2013 at 2:24 amTYLER — The Tyler Together Race Relations Forum announces the 27th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Interfaith Community Program for 2013. It’s set for Monday, January 21. This year’s theme is “A Perspective on Character, Color & Courage in America.”
Individuals and groups will meet downtown on the Square at 8:30 am for a short program and then begin the march at 9:00 am to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The program at the church will begin at 10:00 am. The keynote speaker is Fred McClure, who is the Director of the George H.W. Bush Library Foundation at Texas A&M University. Organizers are encouraging groups to come out on the Square, bring your banner and signs, and participate in the march to the church.
