Texans Sentenced in Mississippi Robbery

Gex III of Mississippi has sentenced a mother and daughter from Texas to prison terms on charges of bank robbery. The Sun Herald reports that Evie Mearlene Herrin, 58, and Amelia Darci Crew, 30, both of Cleveland, Texas, were fined $5,000 each. Gex sentenced Herrin to 5 years and 10 months in prison for using a BB gun to hold up a Regions Bank on U.S. Highway 49 in Gulfport, Mississippi, on March 26, 2012. Crew was sentenced to 3 years and 10 months.

Herrin and Crew pleaded guilty October 1. They are charged in Louisiana with robberies of a bank in Kinder, La., in February and another in Sulphur, Louisiana, in March. They are charged in a February heist in Henderson, Texas.
