Starving Horses Rescued
Posted/updated on: November 25, 2012 at 5:32 pmRUSK COUNTY — Three malnourished horses are seized from a Rusk County property Wednesday and taken to Safe Haven Rescue and Retirement in Upshur County. According to the Longview News-Journal, Richard Fincher, the executive director of the horse rescue center, said law enforcement had been watching the horses. He said authorities rank the condition for horses on a scale of one to nine, with one being extremely malnourished and nine being obese. He said the seized horses would be ranked a two. A hearing is set for 10:00 Tuesday morning.
